Victims of Holocaust remembered in Vienna
On January 27, 2020, on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, the victims of Holocaust were also remembered in Vienna.
Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the International Organizations in Vienna, Ambassador A. Taurantas, accompanied by other diplomats from the Permanent Representation of Lithuania, visited the Memorial of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust in Vienna. The candles were lit and due respect was paid to all the victims of the Holocaust.
Holocaust, as the biggest tragedy of the 20th century, has also deeply touched Lithuania and the Lithuanian Jewish community.
Among other European cities mentioned at the Memorial of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust in Vienna, where Austrian Jews were killed, you can also find the name of Kaunas, 2nd largest city of Lithuania.
