Spain Supports Lithuania‘s Aspiration to Hold OSCE Chairmanship in 2010
On 8 March President Valdas Adamkus met Ambassador Carlos Sanchez de Boado, Chairman of the Permanent Council. “Lithuania supports the priorities set for this year by the Spanish Chairmanship of the OSCE. We think highly of Spain’s leadership in promoting inter-cultural dialogue to which Lithuania also contributes,” said Mr. Adamkus. Mr. Boado underlined that Spain was ready to support Lithuania’s Chairmanship of the OSCE as well as its determination to focus on the settlement of frozen conflicts in Georgia and Moldova. “Like many other countries, Spain considers Lithuania to be prepared for OSCE chairmanship and I believe that you will receive the required support,” said Mr. Boado.
