OSCE Youth Forum organized in Bratislava
On October 28-29, 2019, the OSCE-wide Youth Forum "Engaging Youth for a Safer Future"was organized in Bratislava.
The event was opened by the OSCE’s Chairman-in-Office and Slovakian Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Mr Miroslav Lajčák and the OSCE’s Secretary General, Mr Thomas Greminger.
Youth participants from a majority of OSCE participating States had extensive discussions on a number of security-related issues: conflict prevention, development of peace initiatives, strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights, education, youth involvement, environmental protection, digital security, etc.
Young people, their stronger engagement into the discussions on main security challenges to OSCE participatings states, as well as searching for the respective solutions, is among key priorities of the Slovak OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office. It is also very important to Lithuania that is firmly convinced in the determination and power of youth to defend the world order that is built on the basis of universal values and international law.
