LITHUANIA’S UNION HAILS LAVROV’S ATTENTION TO ITS ANTI-NAZISM MOVE (Itar-tass, 7 December 2011)

VILNIUS, December 6 (Itar-Tass) — Lithuania Without Nazism has appreciated Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s attention to the association’s initiative to put the issue of the spread of neo-Nazism in Europe on the agenda of the OSCE ministerial meeting that is underway in Lithuania, the association’s chairman, Algirdas Paleckis, told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“The pressing problem of growing neo-Nazism moods has been shelved by other political and economic problems that seem more vital. The threat remains undervalued,” he said underling that manifestations of neo-Nazism are snowballing throughout Europe.
“From Finland to Ukraine and from Latvia to the Netherlands representatives of nationalist parties have already been entering the bodies of government and are members of government,” Paleckis said.
“We welcome the Russian foreign minister’s attention to our concerns and their delegation to the high international level,” he said.
Lavrov told the OSCE ministerial meeting that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe should respond to the address of the Lithuania Without Nazism association.
“We consider it principally important to respond to the address submitted to the OSCE urging discussion on the growth of manifestations of nationalism and neo-Nazism on the European space,” the Russian diplomat said
