Lithuanian stand in the traditional international Bazaar of the UN faced vast attention of the visitors
On 5-6 of December in the Austria International Centre in Wien the United Nations Women Guild (UNWG) held 40th Annual International Bazaar. Traditionally Lithuania was presented by the two stands of the souvenirs and mini restaurant of the Lithuanian food.
In the stands, prepared by the staff of the Permanent mission of Lithuania to the International Organizations in Wien and the Lithuanian embassy in Wien, their family members, Lithuanian community in Austria was traded in manufacturing articles of linen, glass, pottery, wood. The national cuisine was well presented by the restaurant of Lithuanian food, where the visitors were treated with potatoes pudding (bulvių plokštainis), branch (šakotis), Lithuanian beer, bread and cheese. The festive mood was guaranteed by the Lithuanian folk music band „Bičiuliai“.
All the allocations got during the Bazaar were transferred to the United Nations Women Guild’s charity fund.
This year Lithuanian stand was sponsored by the „Švyturys-Utenos alus“, „Vilniaus duona“, „Stumbras“. Meanwhile, the visitors of the Bazaar were invited next year to visit Lithuania when Vilnius, together with Linz,will become the capital of the European culture.
