LITHUANIAN FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER THANKS ORDER OF MALTA FOR ITS VIGOROUS ACTIVITY IN LITHUANIA
On 28 January, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Kriščiūnas held a meeting with Ingo Radtke, Secretary General of Malteser International, which is the Worldwide Relief Agency of the Order of Malta for Humanitarian Aid. The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister thanked the Order of Malta for its vigorous activity in Lithuania and presented information about humanitarian assistance provided by Lithuania to foreign countries.
The meeting discussed the impact of humanitarian crises on the world’s security and stability as well as a number of challenges faced by humanitarian actors in reaching victims of armed conflicts, for example in Syria.
During the conversation, the interlocutors spoke about possibilities for cooperation on humanitarian assistance between the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Malteser International.
Malteser International implements projects in different distressed areas of the world, where there is a need for emergency relief. The Agency provides emergency relief after disasters, helps communities rebuild and recover, establishes and promotes primary health care services and nutrition programs, etc.
