LITHUANIAN DIPLOMAT OFFICIALLY ASSUMED POSITION OF THE OSCE PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR IN UKRAINE

Lithuanian diplomat Ambassador Vaidotas Verba on 1 September officially assumed position of the Organization's of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, where he was appointed by the decission of the Chairperson-in-Office of OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter. 

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine Office has been in operation since 1999. It is mandated to plan, implement, and monitor projects that help Ukraine enhance its security and develop its legislation, institutions, and practices in line with democratic standards. The goal is to support the country in adapting legislation, structures, and processes to the requirements of a modern democracy built on a secure environment for its people.
