LITHUANIA ESTABLISHES DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS WITH THE FEDERATION OF SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS, AND TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

On 26 September in New York, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis and Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts Denzil Llewellyn Douglas signed on behalf of their respective governments a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

On the same day, Ažubalis and Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Dookeran signed on behalf of their respective governments a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dookeran and AžubalisThis step will stimulate bilateral cooperation in international organizations – the United Nations organization and its specialized agencies. Moreover, cooperation with the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries is significant in the context of the European Union’s foreign policy.

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is the 162nd country with which Lithuania established diplomatic relations.

Trinidad and Tobago is the 163rd country with which Lithuania established diplomatic relations.
