Lithuania delivered medical assistance to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine

On April 22, 2020, Mr T. Valionis, Charge d‘Affaires of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine, delivered 500 protective face shields to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

The protective face shields, produced in Lithuania, shall enhance medical resilience of the OSCE SMM in Ukraine with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the OSCE Permanent Council meeting of April 23, 2020, Ambassador Y. H. Çevik, Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM in Ukraine, expressed his gratitude to Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Turkey and Canada, for being the first OSCE Participating States to respond to mission's request for medical assistance.

OSCE SMM in Ukraine was deployed on March 21, 2014. Currently, it consists of more that 750 international monitors, majority of whom conduct thei monitoring  in eastern Ukraine. It is where Russia continues its aggression against neighbouring Ukraine already for the 7th consecutive year.
