Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania and Permanent Representation to the International Organizations in Vienna celebrated 100th Anniversary of the State Restoration
Celebration of the 100th anniversary of Restored State of Lithuania in Vienna together with colleagues and friends from Latvia and Estonia
Together with the diplomatic missions of Latvia and Estonia Lithuanian Embassy and Permanent Representation to the International Organizations in Vienna organized a solemn event to mark important dates in their countries’ history –100th Anniversary of Latvia’s and Estonia’s statehood and State Restoration of Lithuania. The event in Vienna’s City Hall was attended by many Austrian officials, diplomats, representatives of international organisations and members of local Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian communities. The guests were greeted by Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian ambassadors in Austria. The guest of honour –President Alexander Van der Bellen addressed the audience congratulating the Baltic countries with the important date and their achievements.
Official speeches were followed by the concert of the Nordic Sounds jazz group where musicians from the three Baltic countries united their talents. They performed M. K. Čiurlionis, R. Pauls, R. Valgre and their own compositions. Their music was greatly admired by the guests including the President Van der Bellen who personally thanked the musicians.
