During the 65th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Lithuania Invited to Discuss the Importance of Non-Governmental Sector’s Participation in Formation of Drug Policy
During the 65th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, on March 15, 2022 Lithuania, in cooperation with the Czech Republic, the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe and the Eurasian Harm Reduction Association, organized a side event on non-governmental and governmental cooperation in drug policy.
The ongoing role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the scientific community is crucial in tackling the global use of psychoactive substances and in reducing the harms and risks associated with their use. The contribution of NGOs adds value to policy makers and contributes directly to the formulation and implementation of national and international drug strategies.
The side event organized by Lithuania with its partners received well deserved attention not only from the European countries, but also from other regions as well. A total number of 70 participants were able to join.
