COMUNITY OF DEMOCRATIES' STATEMENT ON TUNISIA

The member countries of the Community of Democracies (CoD), represented at the Convening Group meeting on January 18, 2011 has noted the recent developments in the Republic of Tunisia and encourages all relevant parties in Tunisia toward dialogue and peaceful resolution of the present crisis in the country.
The CoD expresses regret at the loss of lives as a consequence of the recent events and conveys their sympathy to the families of the victims.
The CoD therefore calls upon the interested parties to seek unity for the good of the Tunisian people, in order to achieve peace, security and stability as soon as possible.
